11 a.m. update:
Right now we are conducting an eye clinic. The original schedule has changed so much. The clinic was supposed to be Friday and Saturday, but due to an accident on the flyers we passed out, the clinic is today, Friday and Saturday! Jim Pinaggio had to go buy hundreds of more pairs of glasses. I was downstairs fitting people for the first hour. There is a big need for people to have reading glasses, so this is great that we can be a part of helping them to meet their needs. We have had to turn some people away, though, because they are near sighted and need to be seen by a doctor. Overall, though, it is going quite well.
Tonight is our last night of English class, and then tomorrow we will have graduation and a party. There will be a testimony (I have been elected to give mine!), an amazing video about the universe, it´s enormity and God´s creation in it all, food, graduation certificates, games and more. It should be a lot of fun.
11 p.m. update:
Class was just a blast tonight. It is really encouraging to see so many people take a real interest in learning. Some students have really been affected this week... they have told me. Our team has been, as well.
Okay, so I have a few more funny stories to tell everyone about. 1.) Carey has had "issues" with her hand gestures. In an effort to say, "Great, all right, or OK," she had given the "OK" hand symbol. We all have used it. In the states, it´s common. Here it means someone completely different and offensive. I won´t explain what it means exactly, but it´s bad! What a rebel that girl is! Ha. Well, once she did it once, it was like this uncontrollable slip up that she kept doing and then kept kicking herself for! We all think it´s too funny! 2.) In Peru, they call cake torta or cacake (not sure on the spelling of that one). Well, I asked Pastor Garcia if the sliced cake was a type of pan (bread) or a type of caucau (phonetically spelled here, because I don´t know how to spell that one, either). You know, the word you say to your child if they are getting into something icky... caucau or kawkaw. Anyway, here that word literally means "poop" here. So basically, I asked the pastor if the cake was chocolate poop. Cool, huh? The gang won´t let me live that one down.

This is the eye clinic today. We will do it again for several hours tomorrow. We were able to fit about 100-120 people with ready glasses. Actually, Miguel told us that one young man who has been hanging around lately gave his life to Christ this afternoon while speaking to Miguel at the eye clinic! Awesome.
This is part of our English class. Each night after class, the three groups come together in the sanctuary to sing and dance to "Big House" by Audio Adrenaline. They enjoy the song so much that yesterday and today they have asked to do it a second time.
